Accessibility

What we have built, what we have not, and how to tell us what you need.

Status

This site targets WCAG 2.2 level AA. A formal third-party audit has not been carried out yet. [PLACEHOLDER — audit pending]

On this website

  • Every page can be operated with a keyboard alone, and the focused element is always visible.
  • A skip link jumps straight to the main content.
  • Headings run in a logical order and each page has exactly one level-one heading.
  • Interactive controls are at least 44 by 44 pixels.
  • Body text meets a 4.5:1 contrast ratio; large display text meets 3:1.
  • Form errors are described in text, linked to the field, and summarised at the top of the form.
  • Availability and booking status are never communicated by colour alone.
  • Animation is reduced or removed when your system asks for reduced motion.
  • The site works at 200% zoom without horizontal scrolling.
  • Images that carry meaning have descriptive alternative text; decorative images are hidden.

Known limitations

  • No independent audit has been completed. Anything below is our own assessment, not a certification.
  • Arabic content is not yet translated. The interface flips to right-to-left, but tour descriptions, articles and policies are still in English.
  • The image gallery lightbox is keyboard operable, but a screen reader announces the images by their alternative text only — there are no extended descriptions yet.

Accessible tours

Website accessibility and tour accessibility are different problems, and we would rather be blunt about the second. Our Doha city tour and the Souq Waqif walking tour both have step-free routes and accessible vehicles with notice. Desert tours are on soft sand and are not wheelchair accessible; the dhow cruise boards by a narrow ramp. Every tour page states this plainly rather than leaving you to find out on the day.

If you tell us what you need, we will tell you honestly whether we can meet it — including when the answer is no.
