Frequently asked questions
The questions we get most. If yours is not here, message us.
Booking
For desert tours in the cooler months (November to March) we would say a week, and longer over Eid and the winter holidays. City tours can usually be booked a day ahead. If you are working with a tight window, message us on WhatsApp and we will tell you honestly what is left.
It depends on the tour. Some take a deposit — usually 25% to 50% — with the balance due before departure. Others are pay-in-full or pay-later. The booking page shows exactly which applies before you commit to anything.
Yes. Above about eight guests we usually quote it as a custom tour so we can get the vehicles and guides right. Use the custom tour form and we will come back with a plan and a price.
Check your spam folder first. If it is not there, use the manage booking page with your reference and email address, and resend it from there. If you do not have a reference at all, contact us and we will find you.
Changes & cancellations
Usually yes, subject to availability on the new date and the notice period in your tour’s policy. Request the change from the manage booking page and our team will confirm it. If the new date costs more, we will tell you the difference before anything is charged.
It varies by tour, and the exact rules are shown on the tour page and again at checkout before you pay. Most of our tours are free to cancel 24 or 48 hours before departure. If we cancel — usually for weather — you choose between a new date and a full refund.
Sandstorms, high wind and heavy rain are the three things that stop us. We make the call as early as we reasonably can and contact you directly. You are never charged for a tour we cancel.
On the tour
On most tours, yes, from central Doha. The Pearl, Lusail, the airport and Al Khor carry a small surcharge which is shown clearly when you choose your pickup point. Our two walking tours have no pickup unless you add a private vehicle.
Light, breathable clothing and closed shoes. For the souq and museums, shoulders and knees covered is the respectful standard. For desert tours bring a jacket — it gets genuinely cold after sunset from November to March.
Most are, and families are a large part of what we do. Under-3s usually travel free, we fit car seats on request, and guides adjust the pace. The west coast day and the quad-bike add-on are the two things we would steer young children away from.
Yes, for any tour with food included or added. Tell us in the special requests box when you book — vegetarian, vegan, halal, allergies. We would rather over-communicate than surprise anyone at a camp an hour from the nearest shop.
Accessibility
Some are. The Doha city tour and the Souq Waqif walk both have step-free routes and accessible vehicles with notice. Desert tours are not accessible — the camps are on soft sand. Every tour page states this plainly, and if you call us we will give you a straight answer rather than a hopeful one.
Whatever affects whether the day will work for you — walking distance, standing, heat tolerance, back or heart conditions, anything you need to carry with you. There is a field for it at checkout, and it goes to your guide.
Payments
All prices are in Qatari riyal (QAR). Accepted payment methods are being finalised with our provider and will be listed here before booking goes live. [PLACEHOLDER — pending payment gateway selection]
When payments go live they will be handled entirely by a hosted payment provider. We never see, handle or store your card details on our own systems. [PLACEHOLDER — pending payment gateway selection]
Approved refunds go back to the original payment method. Timing depends on your bank, but expect five to ten working days after we process it. You will get written confirmation with the amount when the refund is issued.
